Ashvale Chronicles
★★★★★ 4.6
Ashvale Chronicles surprised me with how much it respects your attention. The writing is decent, the world has a consistent tone, and the turn-based battles ask you to actually think about turn order and elemental matchups rather than just tapping attack.
Party building is where it shines. Each companion has a distinct role, and swapping members to counter a tough encounter felt like solving a small puzzle. Progression is generous without being trivial, so you're always a little stronger but never bored.
On a phone the menus are clean and everything is reachable with a thumb. It's a big game you can play in small pieces, which is exactly what I want from a mobile RPG.
What we liked
- Thoughtful turn-based combat
- Genuinely useful party roles
