Neon Apex Drift

★★★★☆ 4.1 Editor rating

Neon Apex Drift throws out realism in favour of feel, and it works. Cars slide the moment you flick the wheel, and chaining drifts through a corner sequence gives you a boost that carries into the next straight. The whole thing is about momentum, not braking points.

Controls default to tilt but you can switch to tap steering, which I ended up preferring on a smaller screen. The tracks are short and designed to be replayed, and shaving half a second off a lap becomes weirdly addictive. The neon art style is loud in the best way.

There isn't much depth beyond the racing itself, but it doesn't pretend otherwise. It's a game for quick, satisfying bursts.
