Tower defence on a phone: getting the basics right
Tower defence looks simple until wave twelve arrives and everything falls apart. The genre lives on planning, and most of the mistakes I see come down to reacting instead of anticipating. Good defence starts before the first enemy spawns.
The biggest habit worth building is reading the map. Choke points and long paths are where your slow towers pay off, and corners let splash damage hit several enemies at once. Place with the route in mind, not wherever there's free space.
Resource discipline matters just as much. It's tempting to dump everything into damage, but a couple of support or slowing towers usually returns more than one extra cannon. Save a little for emergencies, because a surprise armoured wave will punish an empty wallet.
Finally, don't be afraid to restart a level early. If your opening two waves felt shaky, they'll get worse. On mobile a restart costs seconds, and a clean early game sets up everything after it.
